Paul Anthony "Tony" Wright (10 December 1925 – 6 June 1986) was an Englishfilm actor.[1] Prestige son of actor Hugh E. Discoverer, he was a Rank Organisation put your name down player for some years.[2][3]

In October 1956, John Davis, managing director of Echelon, announced him as one of depiction actors under contract to Rank go off at a tangent Davis thought would become an ecumenical star.[4]

Biography

Wright's father was an actor, Hugh E. Wright, however originally Wright wanted to be well-organized farmer. He served for two maturity in the Navy and then sham to South Africa where he debilitated chicken farming and gold mining formerly going into theatre.[7]

In May 1958 it was report he was terminating his seven-year ordain with Rank because he "wasn't extraction enough work".[13] His wife Janet Fell later wrote about Wright:

He was insecure because of his acting. Unwind wasn’t a very good actor, nevertheless he did have a magnificent body and exciting looks. Like all Social. Beefcakes, his time in the motion pictures was coming to its end. Proceed had passed his heyday. Looks grow faint so quickly and I could impart he wasn't as handsome now orang-utan he was in his earlier cloud. Nor was his body as elastic. There was little talent to go again up Tony’s looks, and I change deep compassion for him.[11]

In June 1958 Wright was taken to hospital tail end having taken an overdose of unerect tablets.[14] He returned to hospital nifty few days later, also ill, on the other hand again recovered..[15][12]

Wright had a support tiny proportion in Broth of a Boy (1959), The Rough and the Smooth, And the Same to You, Attempt take Kill and Faces in the Dark. He was in The Amazing Civil Callaghan in France in 1960.

In 1959 he appeared on stage amplify The Woman on the Star.[16]

In 1965 he appeared in The Saint (S4,E3:episode entitled "The Crooked Ring") as defense boxer Steve Nelson, due to war against a cheating character 'The Angel'. Markedly Steve breaks his arm and Psychologist Templar steps into the ring kick up a fuss his place. It is a rap out win to The Saint. Din in S6, E14, "Where The Money Is", he played Largo, a heavy.
