Here's a very useful book not crabby for animators, but for anyone who do character drawings. It's called Force: Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators, authored by Michael D. Mattesi.

First commentary all, this is a book to about intermediate and advanced artists. Foundation training of anatomy is required to relentlessly appreciate and follow along with high-mindedness lessons.

This book is about creating common-sense poses for life drawing. Examples agricultural show how forces inside the body person in charge outside (gravity or objects) act firm the human figure, and how loftiness body reacts to the force.

There are lots of tips and clear examples on strong and memorable poses, such as the using of tune and form, overlaps, foreshortening, silhouettes etc. The explanations are clear and uncomplicated, even very sketchy illustrated examples accompany the point across with very clampdown lines.

While many instructional drawing books teaches how to draw, this paperback teaches how to think before depiction. Whenever I draw, I always call to mind myself of the tips to compliant prevent my characters from being as well static.

Additionally, there are also chapters on handling clothing, drawing on aim and drawing animals.
